Barriers IRL
Wood, MDF, fixings, acrylic paint, single channel video, flatscreen TV
Installation at FELTspace Gallery 1, Adelaide SA

Barriers IRL began as a proposal for a public work where concrete barriers are dropped from a great height using a crane. In a move that playfully references Minimalism and the modernist notion of the readymade, the resulting (crumbling?) stack of forms would be secured together and painted using a flat, ultramarine blue.

Revisiting this idea as an installation at FELTspace, this suite of work is an investigation into the politics of media and site through an arrangement of artefacts that in different ways simulate aspects of the original physical event. IRL detail.jpg IRL wide.jpg
