154 Angas Street Mural
2020
Inspired by the collectively generative aesthetic of a variety of phenomena including colourful clusters of stickers on streetpoles, the visual effects of standard variations in data, phone tower network maps and the fluid dynamics of crowd movement, this proposal for the exterior of 154 Angas Street is a systematic but playful articulation of the energy of the various creative pursuits that form its communities. A series of circles (a form commonly used to signify place in mapping) emanates out from the entrance on each organisation in colours that correspond with their particular branding.
The design seeks to complement existing frontage detailing and signage in a way that differentiates each business but maintains a unity in its visual strength that carries through a range of proximities.
